Welcome to another free crochet pattern! This pattern is for a beanie with flowers, specifically using the daisy stitch. Please note that this pattern is written with US crochet terminology. I would recommend this crochet pattern for those of you with crochet skills of an intermediate level or higher due to the daisy stitches. You will need:
- 3.5mm crochet hook
- Approximately 75g of yarn
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch markers (optional)
Abbreviations
- Chain – CH
- Yarn over – YO
- Slip stitch – SS
- Single crochet – SC
- Half double crochet – HDC
- Double crochet – DC
Instructions
Round 1
Make a magic circle, CH 1, make 8 HDC into the circle, then close with a SS.
Round 2
CH 4, *make a daisy by inserting your hook into the next Ch and YO, repeat from the * until there are 6 loops on your hook in total then YO and pull through all the loops, then CH 2.











Repeat from the * 8 more times until the round is complete and you have 9 daisies in total, then close with a SS.
Round 3
Ch 1, then do 3 HDC in the centre of each daisy. Repeat until you have 27 HDC then close the round with a SS.
Round 4
CH 3, make 1 daisy, then CH 1. *Then make 2 daisies, then CH 1. Repeat from the * 8 more times until you have 19 daisies total. Close the round with a SS.
Round 5
*do 2 HDC in the centre of the 1st daisy, then do 3 HDC in the centre of the next daisy. Repeat from the * 8 more times then do 2 HDC in the last daisy. You should have 47 HDC then close the round with a SS.
Round 6
CH 3, make 2 daisies then CH 1. *Then make 3 daisies, then CH 1. Repeat from the * 7 more times, then finish off the round with 2 more daisies. You should have 28 daisies total. Close the round with a SS.
Round 7
*Do 2 HDC in the centre of each of the 1st 2 daisies, then 3 HDC in the centre of the 3rd daisy. Repeat 8 times from the * then do 2 HDC in the last daisy centre. There should be 65 HDC in total. Close the round with a SS.
Round 8
CH 3, make 3 daisies then CH 1. *Then make 4 daisies, then CH 1. Repeat from the * 7 more times, then finish off the round with 2 more daisies. You should have 37 daisies total. Close the round with a SS.
Round 9
*Do 2 HDC in the centre of each of the 1st 3 daisies, then 3 HDC in the centre of the 4th daisy. Repeat from the * 8 times and do 2 HDC in the last daisy centre. There should be 83 HDC in total. Close the round with a SS. If you would like to make your beanie smaller, perhaps for a baby or toddler, you can stop increasing the number of daisies after this round.
Round 10
CH 3, make 4 daisies then CH 1. *Then make 5 daisies, then CH 1. Repeat from the * 7 more times, then finish off the round with 2 more daisies. You should have 46 daisies total. Close the round with a SS.
Round 11
*Do 2 HDC in the centre of each of the 1st 4 daisies, then 3 HDC in the centre of the 5th daisy. Repeat from the * 8 more times, then do 2 HDC in the last daisy. There should be 101 HDC in total. Close the round with a SS. If you would like to make your beanie smaller, perhaps for a child, you can stop increasing the number of daisies after this round.
Round 12
CH 3, make 5 daisies then CH 1. *Then make 6 daisies, then CH 1. Repeat from the * 7 more times, then finish off the round with 2 more daisies. You should have 55 daisies total. Close the round with a SS.
Round 13
*Do 2 HDC in the centre of each of the 1st 5 daisies, then 3 HDC in the centre of the 6th daisy. Repeat from the * 8 more times, then do 2 HDC in the last daisy. There should be 119 HDC in total. Close the round with a SS.
Round 14
CH 3, then make 60 daisies. Close the round with a SS.
Round 15
Do 2 HDC in the centre of each daisy. There should be 120 HDC in total. Close the round with a SS. Repeat Rounds 14 & 15 until your beanie is your desired length, then end off and use the tapestry needle to weave in the ends.
